The movie is a classic. Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed, meeting, dating, falling in love, lost dreams, feeling like you’re stuck and never have a chance to travel to exotic destinations.  You know what happens … in dire straits, Jimmy Stewart cries out that he wishes he were never born.  And then POOF! … he’s granted his wish.

I’ve been there. Frustrated that my plans were not going to come to fruition. Feeling unappreciated.   It can happen.  Happens to me when I’m not H-A-L-T-ing (checking my “Hungry-Angry-Lonely-Tired” self).

So, what would it be like if Debby Efurd had not been born?  Well, my son, K, wouldn’t be here.  He’s an amazing person who has an impact on everyone he meets and will impact the world in ways he doesn’t even fathom yet.  I wouldn’t have been Cary’s wife (I keep telling him he would be lost without me). As a result, I wouldn’t have K and C in my life, a daughter and son I call my own. I wouldn’t have B, K and E (daughters and son- in-law) who bring joy to my life. And without all of them, there wouldn’t be grandkiddoss (K, M, L, E, J, and L) who keep me young (and old) at the same time.

If I hadn’t been born, there wouldn’t be a post-abortion ministry and I wouldn’t have met some very courageous people who make a stand for Christ everyday.  I could go on and on.

God doesn’t need me to work His Will on this earth, but I am grateful He allows me to be a part of it.  When I forget about the small stuff (and, let’s face it, it’s all small stuff), I see a glimpse of God and Heaven here on earth.
