After weeks of steady showers and thunderstorms, I had forgotten how glorious a clear, blue sky and no rain can be. The sun’s warmth feels wonderful. I can actually see the animals, and not mud-caked critters!
For weeks we’ve been bogged down in mud and dirty water knee high. Sometimes the road to our house was flooded. Flash flood alerts have been part of the forecast for so long, I’ve forgotten what “normal” weather is. As a result, I’ve been grousing far too long to anyone within listening range about the weather.
Living in Texas, I’ve learned the one thing you can count on – every time – is the weather changing and quickly. When we get to the heat of July and August, I’ll be missing this rain, so I’m grateful that we received levels to take us out of drought stage.
Instead of complaining, I am readjusting my way of thinking to remember God is at work. God is the God of all weather and He ordains every season, and in that we see the awesomeness of God.
William Law said, “He who complains of the weather—complains of the God who ordains the weather!” The basic truth is that God creates, ordains, and controls all weather – and everything — thank goodness!
Psalm 118:24 “This is the day which the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
