For the last two weeks I have traveled by plane, train and automobile. For every mile, I swear I was drawn by a large magnet to every traffic jam, pot hole, or wedged between large semis. With increasing frustration, I was determined to write a post entitled “Turf Wars” just to vent and complain. Instead, I find myself on this Good Friday being extremely grateful for more ways than I can count.
We are headed to Kansas City to see our son and family for Easter, so I am thankful for the airline, the freedom to be able to travel, the safety we have in this country and so many of us take for granted.
I am grateful that I have a good job to come back to (especially with 8 months left to retirement).
I am grateful for my entire family — husband, kids, grandkids, extended, blended, in-laws, out-laws, and the whole caboodle.
I am grateful that there are women and men who support the ministry of Peace After the Storm, for those who have found their voice and are sharing their message of hope and restoration to a lost world.
I am grateful for my parents, though they are now gone, who loved me unconditionally and passed on attributes that have helped me in life.
I am even grateful for economy class on American Airlines. They just announced they added some leg room to the cabin seating.
Most of all I am grateful for a Savior who willingly gave Himself as a living sacrifice for me, Debby Efurd. I have nothing on this side of heaven to complain about when I think of Him.
Happy Easter.
