Today is Thanksgiving Day, 2013. Despite the aches and pains I gain each year, the memory which isn’t what it once was, my gratitude list still grows.
I’m grateful for my life, my relationship with the Almighty, my husband, children, grandchildren, extended family, friends, the people He specifically put in my life for whatever reason, for the way He designed me, for the desire to keep on keeping on, and for the opportunities He opens without my doing anything.
I’m also grateful that today (like most days), I don’t have to cook, because, after all, the kitchen is not my friend. I’m grateful that when I don’t know how to do something, God places the people in my life who do (like my husband, who DOES know how to cook).
I’m also grateful for change, which is the one thing consistent throughout time … things changing. It’s a good thing, too, because I’m still a work in progress … still growing to become more like Christ.
Romans 12:1-3 says, “Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.”
That’s my goal … to be a reflection of Him!
Happy Thanksgiving 2013!
