Our little community lost a wonderful woman recently.  Mrs. “B” was a delight to everyone who crossed her path.  She greeted every single person with a warm smile and twinkling eyes.  In fact, she and her husband, Mr. “J” were the first to stop by and greet Cary and I when we moved to town.

Mrs. B was a hard worker, evident in the business she and her husband built over 40+ years.  She was the matriarch for a large, tight-knit family, loving her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with gusto.  You never saw Mrs. B and Mr. J apart – their love was so amazing.  They raised their family to love the Lord, which was passed down from generation to generation.   What a legacy to leave!

You learn a lot about people during a funeral.  Mrs. B’s faith was of utmost importance to her and her husband.  I was fascinated when I discovered how they started sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ to each person who walked in to buy peaches when they first started their business.  They gave each person a “check” of sorts, made payable on “The Bank of Eternal Life,” dated “Now (2 Cor. 6:2)”, payable to “Whosoever Believeth (John 3:16)” for the sum of “Eternal Life.”  The signature was the “Lord Jesus Christ.”  On the reverse side were scriptures explaining the Gospel.

I know in my heart of hearts Mrs. B is singing praises in heaven right now.  I am also sure the Lord told her, “well done, my good and faithful servant.”

Do you store your treasures in heaven?  Have you shared the Good News to someone lately?
