Psalm 91:4 He covers me with His feathers, and under His wings I take refuge; His truth is a shield and armour.
When You Least Expect It
Over the past several years (since my last blog post), a lot has happened. Health concerns, change in routines, family loss — all encompassing ups and downs of life. I’ve been praying for God to show me where I fit in with all of it. Then, when you least expect it, God shows up and gives you the answer.
A year ago, my husband began his own journey resulting in a deeper faith with Jesus Christ and a book (The Road to Recovery – To L and Back). It has now grown into a ministry (Cary John Efurd Ministries) to help those afflicted in Northeast Texas with mental illness, drug and alcohol addiction, homeless, shelters, food and clothing, pregnancy resource centers (the list keeps growing).
Of course, I’m sitting here on my pitty pot wondering “what about me, Lord?” I felt oppressed, depressed, and pushed down. Then, out of the blue, one after another calls or emails started coming in about ministry work I had done in Dallas. Suddenly, I’m forming relationships with ministry partners to help dear old hubby in the ministry.
I was reminded this week that when the enemy attacks, then consider that as a badge of honor. This means you are over the target and they fear you. If the enemy never came up against you then what kind of warrior would you become?
I know many are going through difficult battles right now. This world is changing and everything seems chaotic.
Your vision may be blurry but that does not mean you are not close to victory. Remember, when the Israelites were walking through the water being chased by Pharoah things appeared dire. But SUDDENLY God took control! Never give up hope. You never know when God will pull off a sudden victory that will stun the enemy and justify your faith. You could be closer than you know. Hold on.
