The last several week have been a blur of Sanctity of Life activities.  From a pro-life rally, to a March for Life, two engagements at colleges, four women’s programs, one radio show, traveling all over the DFW Metroplex.  Whew, what a whirlwind!  But the memory that remains “close to home” was standing in front of the Earle Cabell Federal Building in Dallas on January 18 with 10,000 plus other pro-lifers.  That building is where 41 years ago the Roe v. Wade decision was rendered legalizing abortion in this country.  Four months later I had an abortion which affected a large part of my life until I found recovery from those wounds.

Wounded people wound others. That’s what abortion does. There are no winners in abortion.  It’s about a mother, a father, and a child.  The child loses his or her life, and afterward the parents suffer emotionally, spiritually (and often physically).  If we allow abortion to remain in the political realm solely, we remove the humanity of life from the holocaust of abortion.

Someone asked me what would happen when there is no abortion. I pray that day comes, but the reality is that legal or not there will be abortion.  Until every victim of abortion receives healing, then our job is not complete.

Abortion is the largest demographic in our culture and throughout the world.  The slaughter as a result of the 9/11 attacks occur every single day in abortion clinics throughout this country. My heart cries out for those babies and parents.
